Finally… A Sports Club in BF Homes

Modern suburban living can mean not knowing your neighbors for years – living in Asia’s largest subdivision can mean never meeting neighbors throughout entire lifetimes.

What started as a grassland development in the 70’s, BF Homes has progressed into a collection of gated residential villages and bustling commercial establishments of over 12,000 households.

“I grew up going around this whole place on my bike. We used to hang out at Tropical Palace with its Olympic-size pools but it burned down in the 80’s”, reminisces Mike Garcia. He went off to college abroad, came back and saw that the void for a sports and recreational venue has not been filled.

The Village Sports Club (VSC) currently has an eight lane 25-meter lap pool, a kiddie pool, soon-to-be completed badminton, basketball and tennis courts, a gym, bowling alley and spa. Aside from wellness facilities, the club also features dining outlets, function rooms and a daycare center.

As President of VSC, Mike has the starter family in mind, “Kids who set out early in sports will have it in their system the rest of their lives. We may even be a breeding ground for champions”.

Fitness is now in renaissance with thousands joining running events happening almost weekly, business moguls training to be tri-athletes and the recent Iron Man franchise brought to Camsur. But the difference with the aerobics and bodybuilding trends of past decades, today’s holistic approach aims for soundness of the body, mind and spirit.

Aside from the standard features of a top-notch gym, the one of VSC will have a view of the aviary for a more dynamic feel because the ultimate goal is to form an interactive community of members who actually know each other.
